For so long, I knew that a styled shoot was something I wanted to put together and after months of figuring out how to make it happen and second guessing myself, I decided to do just that.
I knew I wanted to do something unique and different and when I found out about Murray & Kara’s van, I instantly had the idea to use it in the shoot. I’d never seen that sort of thing done before and it just added such a good flare to the whole bohemian/nature based theme I was going for.
After getting all of the vendors on board and the date nailed down, I kicked back and waited for the day to arrive. I was confident and content that everything was causing along nicely however, I celebrated a bit too early. In the last 24 hours leading up the shoot I had to change the dress, the location and find last minute wardrobe adjustments for Kara. I thought it was done for and had accepted the fact it wasn’t going to live up to what I wanted it to be. That was until it actually happened… On the day, everything ran smoother than I could have hoped for. The weather was great, a little bit overcast fro some great even shadows and just enough light to leave us with a few hours of incredible conditions.
My amazing wife came with us and was kept busy holding items of clothing, props, cameras, shoes and a multitude of other items while Ash (Film & Foliage) and I arranged shots and made some magic happen.
The end scene to the day was completely left to Ash who did the most incredible job putting together the flowers that went through the van, it was unlike anything I’ve ever seen! It was the icing on the cake which wrapped up the shoot in a way that was so perfect and personal. I wouldn’t have had it any other way.
It was all made possible to the amazing team that joined me on the adventure and made the day what it was. Thanks to all those involved for being a part of what has been the best photographic experience of my life so far!
